America One Nation Under God

Our Collective Faith in God is Carved in Stone

There are Bible verses etched in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington, D.C.
As you walk up the steps to the building which houses the U.S. Supreme Court you can see near the top of the building a row of the world's law givers and each one is facing one in the middle who is facing forward with a full frontal view - it is Moses and he is holding the Ten Commandments!

As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the two huge oak doors have the Ten Commandments engraved on each lower portion of  each door.

As you sit inside the courtroom, you can see the wall, right above where the Supreme Court judges sit, a display of the Ten Commandments!

Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable. – JFK

Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly. – Robert F. Kennedy

The things that will destroy America are peace at any price, prosperity at any cost, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living, and the getting-rich-quick theory of life. – Theodore Roosevelt.

Do what you can, with what you have, were you are. – Theodore Roosevelt

In 1787 during the Constitutional Convention which in 4 months drew up guidelines for this republic, the congress was at one time about to adjourn in confusion. The attempt to form a lasting union had apparently failed, at this crucial point 81 year old Benjamin Franklin arose and said,

"Gentlemen, I have lived a long time and am convinced that God governs the affairs of men. If a sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, is it probable that an empire can rise without His aid? I, therefore move that prayers imploring the assistance of Heaven be held every morning before we proceed with business. In the beginning of the contest with Great Britain when we were sensible of the danger we had daily prayers in this room for Divine protection. Our prayers were heard and they were generously answered..."

Franklin then proposed that they adjourn for two days to seek Divine guidance and then when they returned again Mr. Franklin addressed them again.

"We have been assured sir in the sacred writings that except the Lord build the house they labor in vain that build it. I firmly believe this and also believe that without His concurring aid we shall succeed in this political building no better than the builders of Babble... And what is worse, mankind may hereafter despair of establishing a government by human reason and leave it to chance, war, and conquest."

1820 DANIEL WEBSTER  ... "more than all, a government and a country were to commence, with the very first foundations laid under the divine light of the Christian religion...Who would wish that his country's existence had otherwise begun?   Let us not forget the religious character of our origin."

JOHN QUINCY ADAMS  "The first and almost only book deserving of universal attention is the Bible"

James Madison, the fourth president, known as  The Father of Our Constitution  made the following statement  We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.

Patrick Henry, that patriot and Founding Father of our country said,  It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ .

The very first Supreme Court Justice, John Jay, said,  Americans should select and prefer Christians as their rulers.

All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.
